Health Care is a Human Right–WA is a statewide coalition working to establish a publicly funded, universal health care system in Washington. We believe health care is a human right and that public systems must serve people—not profit. We organize communities, partner with coalition members, and advance policy solutions that improve health, stability, and opportunity for all Washingtonians.

  • I got sick on vacation. A $47,428 medical bill left me responsible for $1,283 out of pocket. As a mom with a son covered by Medicaid, that’s not a small number. I went for rest and came home to a $1,283 bill. Families shouldn’t be punished for needing care. We need a healthcare system that works for people, not against them.

No Cuts to Care for Immigrants Rally

This year, thousands of immigrants will lose access to their health care just because they're immigrants. An estimated 30,000-40,000 are losing their affordable health insurance, including 2,700 elders and people with disabilities who face losing their caregivers and 10,000 who have already lost assistance. Washington lawmakers have stepped up to fund care for some through state long-term care, Apple Health Expansion, and Cascade Care Savings -- but under the budgets they've proposed, most will still lose care. 

We need to send a clear message in Olympia: no one should lose access to care just because of where they were born. There's still time for our state lawmakers to fix the budget and fund care for all. 
Join us on Tuesday March 3rd in Olympia to tell legislators: no cuts to care for immigrants.

Whole Washington hosts weekly phone banking events on Thursdays from 4:30-6:00 pm. Whole Washington phone banking events are hosted via Zoom so the facilitator is available to support you as you make calls. These will be super easy calls, targeting Whole WA supporters, asking them to attend local events or otherwise get involved – so we can win. We hope to see you there!
